German Sd.Kfz. 553 Ausf. Vierfüßler «Kaiserkäfer»

Somehow I was taken to a group build for building all sorts of phantasmagoric gizmos for which I chose Modelcollect UA35004 German Sd.Kfz. 553 Ausf. Vierfüßler “Kaiserkäfer”.

There is no point in reviewing it in detail – there are links to several decent reviews on Scalemates. Of course, it’s in German.

I missed all the deadlines, there were good and sad reasons for this, but I finally finished it during the New Year holidays.

The impressions from the kit itself are not very good. It’s immediately clear what the humanists did. Tell me, how can you not know that walkers weighing up to 50 tons are equipped only with an asynchronous Manikevich-Volsky double-converter, due to the fact that their mass is insufficient for quantizing the resistive spatial return? And therefore, an initiating pulse of the zeta field is required, for which an external energy source is used. Most often, an internal combustion engine. Even children know this!

You understand that this is still a secret technique, the most important thing in it is the starters of the double converters, I’m showing you purely out of acquaintance, and so that it doesn’t go anywhere further. You see: you can’t even photograph them!

But seriously, it was made by humanities people anyway. And by that I don’t mean humanities specialists, but rather those clueless in technical fields. Because they don’t know anything about humanities either: käfer is a beetle, a beetle is an insect, and insects have six legs! Actually, there’s nothing good about this model except the legs. They make up 80% of the plastic in the box.

It is enough to put any tank next to it to understand that real tanks are hung and studded with all sorts of things on the outside: staples, cables, boxes, entrenching and repair tools, spare tracks, etc., but here the hull is clean and smooth.

Why do you need wings on a walking machine? To keep dirt from flying out from under your knees? On an armored thing with two guns – and not a single machine gun. Radio station without antenna? And so on. And so on.

The donors of additional parts were the remains of the PzKpfw38(T), Pz.Kpfw. (Pz.Beob.Wg.) IV Ausf. j

Purely out of the box the cabin looks like this.

I bought the decals specifically.

When painting, I tested the recently acquired Mr.Hobby modulation kit.

It just so happened that I painted it with a newly purchased airbrush from the same company.

Вот такой неизбирательный дед Мороз! Он же к нам с востока, от Японии  приходит – вот там и затарился.

And the headlights, well, what are the headlights? That’s what I was inspired by.

And I won’t say that this is the first and last time I build something like this!

I have supplies!
